RSS stands for 'Rich Site Summary' or Really Simple Syndication' and is an exciting Internet marketing method to help boost traffic to your web site. To start using RSS there are two things needed: an RSS Feed and an RSS Reader or Aggregator. The RSS feed comes from an RSS-supported website such as Pages4women.com. There are also websites that provide a list of RSS feeds of different web sites. An RSS aggregator is used to read the RSS feed from the source website.
An aggregator comes in two forms: a down loadable program, also known as desktop aggregator and an online web based aggregator. Once you have found an RSS feed that you want to add to your aggregator, the process can be done in two ways. Almost all sites offering an RSS feed displays an RSS or XML button in their homepage, and with one click of the mouse, it promptly adds that particular feed to one's aggregator. Some aggregators, however, require the need to copy and then paste the URL of the feed into the program. And if in the event you do not wish to continue accepting updates from a particular feed, you simply delete the URL from your aggregator.
