Tania Bartrip
Tania is the Founder of Pages 4 Women and although she has had to adapt
and change the site quite substantially since it's inception back in
2001, she feels that she has learned a great deal on this 'journey'.
As a result she has a much clearer vision on how to create the right
platform to empower women globally. This steep learning curve has given
her an insight into what was missing for women on the Net - Tania's
mission is to provide this missing resource - a safe place for women to
connect, network, share ideas and be empowered on both a personal and
professional level.
Her Background
Most of her professional life has involved Sales - she has worked for
several Pharmaceutical Companies networking with Health care
Professionals in a training and sales capacity. This experience has
certainly helped her to understand the importance of networking and in
providing the necessary training and support.
Previous to her Sales career, she had taken a career break to take care
of her son and daughter whilst they were of pre-school age. And during
this time she also kept a small flock of sheep - an interest since her
childhood - she grew up on a hill farm in Wales where her father kept
sheep and cattle.
Her strong ties with the land and farming prompted her to study
Agriculture at Aberystwyth University, Wales and she graduated in 1982
with a BSc Honors in Agriculture. She then spent a year traveling
around Australia and New Zealand and had an unforgettable six months
working as a Jilleroo (Trainee Farm manager) in New South Wales,
Australia on a Fine Wool Merino Sheep Station (see photo). On her return to the UK,
she then got involved in Deer Farming and returned to the Antipodes on
a sponsored research into Fallow Deer farming. She submitted her
research to the Welsh Development Board but at this time Deer Farming
in the UK had taken a downturn due to some health issues amongst some
newly established herds.
So it was time for a change in direction - She moved to the South West
of England with her parents when they sold the farm in Wales. The
fertile, softer landscape in Devon was certainly a contrast to the
rugged beauty of North Wales but she soon felt at home, and has lived
there ever since!
Her Interests
She still maintains a keen interest in farming and believes strongly in
the merits of Organic food production, which she is keen to promote.
Her other interests include gardening, horse riding, hill walking and
reading. Three years ago, she felt a strong pull towards Spirituality
and the need to find answers that conventional religion did not supply.
She has read many books and listened to various Spiritual Teachers, and
this journey of self-discovery has transformed her perspective on life.
She would recommend to anyone who is looking for answers to questions
on Spiritual matters to read or listen to the following teachers: -
Eckhart Tolle, James Redfield, Dr Wayne Dyer, Shakti Gawain, Deepak
Chopra and James Ray.
Her strong interest in self-development and spirituality led to her
creating a second web site - LifePerspective.com - she wanted to
inspire others to take a positive view on life through inspirational
photographs and affirmations. This site also offers visitors the
opportunity to register as a member and to create their own galleries
of inspirational photos with quotes or commentary.
