I am the proud mother of two gorgeous teenage sons and am lucky enough
to work from home, so I get to spend more time than usual with them.
Before I had my children I worked in recruitment which I loved but I
didn't want to leave my children in the care of someone else and so
gave that up when Philip was born.
My Background
It was just as well that I did give up working because my husband was
sent to Belgium and we spent the next ten years traveling. I
can't believe how lucky I have been. I've lived in
some beautiful houses in some beautiful countries including Belgium,
France, Germany and finally ending up in Princeton, New Jersey. Both of
us are great nomads and we always saw each new country as a real
opportunity to learn more about other cultures and see more of the
world.
However, we are also parents and in Princeton we had to get down to
some really hard thinking. The children were due to go to secondary
school and we needed to decide what all this traveling was doing to
them. Neither of us wanted to send them to boarding school but we were
really concerned about their education and the fact that if we stayed
in the States they would to all intents and purposes become American
and probably want to stay there if and when we came back to England. In
the end my eldest son ended up going to 6 primary schools in 5
countries which is not ideal!
We recognized that we were at a crossroads and decided to return to
Maidenhead where we already had a house and commit to keeping our sons
at the same secondary school for the rest of their education. It was an
incredibly tough decision because returning to England meant returning
without a job and we had got very used to a great life style but we put
our furniture and possessions on a boat and then spent the next 6 weeks
driving
from New York to San Francisco via Florida.
We asked all of our
American friends to suggest one place for us to visit en route and, of
course, there were places that we wanted to see as well. It really was
the trip of a lifetime - Washington, New Orleans, Dallas,
Dodge City (where we celebrated our younger son's 8th
birthday), some of the most beautiful National Parks in America and
then into California. Our friends also thought up silly competitions
that we had to do during our travels (find a gondola which we did in
Las Vegas etc!) and we published a travel diary on the net so everyone
could catch up with our latest escapades.
What we do now
England came as a bit of a shock after all the excitement of the trip
but we got down to business quickly. Charles started up his own company
as a management consultant and unbelievably, I found gainful employment
with a large local company dealing with all their recruitment. At this
stage I could hardly use a computer and my confidence was at rock
bottom but we needed to pay the mortgage and in the end it was the best
thing that I could have done because it made me remember that I was an
intelligent capable woman as well as a wife and mother. The only thing
I had a problem with was not being able to look after my children as I
wanted. I found holidays and half terms really difficult and I used
to do ridiculous things like get to work at 7am so I could take a
couple of hours off in the middle of the day to attend sports day!
So, we found a solution and started Plan B which has now managed to
turn into Plan A! Both Charles and I now work at home in the health and
nutrition business, helping people with their weight and health
challenges and also helping them to optimize their sports performance
through good nutrition. Our mission in life is to change
people's lives and we do this through good
nutrition and by offering them a great work from home business
opportunity. The company we work with was started in 1980 and last year
had over $3 billion in sales with a projection this year of
3.6 billion so this is a really exciting opportunity we have
got involved with. Since we started 3 years ago we have helped hundreds
of people, traveled around the world and started to make a really good
lifestyle for ourselves and our family.
If you would like to hear more about our business from home please

pressurizing people and are always happy to give information with no
strings attached.
