I own and operate Turning Point, Inc. and Maxwell Publishing. I am
based in a small town outside of Eugene, Oregon. I have been in
business for 14 years.
My Background
I have been in an 18-year relationship; I have two dogs, a newly
adopted cat, a goat and a horse. Most of my pets are rescue pets.
The rural life affords me the balance between a successful
Internet-based business and high energy speaking engagements. One of my
most popular keynote presentations is Achieve Your Fullest Potential.
I speak from my own experience of having made some poor choices in my
teens and early twenties, which led me to a place of living without a
roof over my head and being unemployable to becoming an award winning
speaker, author and entrepreneur.
I share insights from the thousands of people I have met through the
years who are heroes in their own right and yet, often unsung heroes. I
share the message that there are some things in life, many in fact,
which we have no control over. What we do have control over is our
focus, attention, attitude and level of gratitude.
I love the combination of my professional and personal life. I also
pride myself on being a 'country girl' at heart.
From my view of the world, I have created the best of both worlds.
My personal passions are time with family and friends, my pets, flower
gardening, bicycling, meditating, reading and. I also play a very
'mean' game of cards.
Where I am Now
I am the founder of the Street Smarts Marketing program working with
speakers, trainers, authors and consultants. I teach my clients how to
package their expertise and knowledge into money making products and
service. I do this by teaching them eProduct development, multi media
program development, self-publishing skills, teleseminar development
and developing mentoring courses that they can offer their clients.
I teach my clients high return marketing and promotions strategies to
gain high visibility within their target market and industry. Much of
what I teach is based on solid Internet marketing systems. I do not
teach them how to be the next Internet marketing guru. Rather, how to
best position themselves for optimum visibility via the Internet.
I enjoy working with a diverse group of people, many of whom describe
themselves as very spiritual in nature.
I started my publishing company for the purpose of having complete
creative control over the books I wanted to take to market. In the time
I have had my publishing company I have taken four paperback books to
market and dozens of eBased information products.
Although I currently reside in Oregon, I lived in Salt Lake City, Utah
for 15 years. Prior to that I was in the North Bay area of California.
In the early 80's I traveled to the Middle East, living for
extended periods of time on the West Bank of Israel and Mexico.
With over 25 years of experience in sales, marketing, management,
public relations and promotions, I have worked with organizations such
as the U.S. Marine Corps, Novus Corporation and AT&T. I am a
past president of the National Speakers Association Utah Chapter and
past vice-chair and marketing chair for the Central Region Council for
the Department of Workforce Services of Utah.
Although I love speaking at large conventions, I find I have a great
passion in working one-on-one or in small groups with my clients.
