Ashwhin began with an acceptance of my own need, to work for myself in
a
place where I could give my energy and love to supporting others,
whilst
still growing and developing myself. Ashwhin is a haven of calm, a
place
to reconnect with oneself, to rest and relax, and to learn to work with
the dynamic flow of change that is life
Much more than just a therapy center, Ashwhin offers a safe place to
explore, recover, or simply to be. Clients and friends can pop in for a
massage after work, enjoy a day of indulgence or be supported regularly
with any combination of therapies that fits their needs.
At the heart of Ashwhin is total flexibility, the range of therapies
and
workshops are continually expanding from the original core of reiki and
energy work, reflexology and massage, counselling and life coaching,
sound, scent and movement. The spirit of Ashwhin is to be in touch with
our best selves, to find our own right balance, and to make the most of
life. In this we each have a different path, but the tools of inner
peace, self-acceptance, health and boundless energy are necessary for
us
all.
The personal part of my “personal retreat” means
that the experience
here is guided entirely by each individuals expectations and hopes,
giving them complete control over how they spend their time here; the
self-catering flat gives privacy and independence; the place itself
gives a sense of deep timelessness and warmth.
I see myself as catalyst and enabler for change, mentor and friend,
giving comfort and inspiration as and when its needed. The doing and
the
pace of development is for each person to choose, I provide gentle
support and a wonderful place to retreat to from the stresses and
strains of daily challenges.
My Background
My primary interests have always been diverse, the arts, writing,
teaching, caring, healing and the environment. The roles I undertook in
the 21 years before starting my own business reflect this diversity and
include lecturer, fund-raiser, counselor, publicity officer, web
designer, training and development officer, editor, and script writer.
All of these roles have been invaluable in developing my own business,
but it is only now that I can utilize all my skills and weave them
together in a way that provides a fabulous service to others and
encourages me to grow and develop all the time.
Where I Am Now
Celebrating change and balance in my own life. Inevitably, the first
seven years of developing my business, expanding it to meet the needs
of
my clients, growing a network of contacts and being visible have given
me little time for my own personal work. This year I am redressing the
balance by expanding my knowledge and experience of energy work, and
painting again.
The future looks bright and full, with plans to improve and expand the
facilities at Ashwhin, to write another book, to paint, and to plant
loads more trees.
