Prasanna Probyn is a registered classical homeopath. She qualified in
Homeopathy at the London School of Classical Homeopathy in 2001 and
registered with the Society of Homeopaths the following year. To
complement homeopathy, she offers Chinese Tuina massage to help with
problems such as insomnia, headaches, musculo-skeletal pain and
indigestion.
Prasanna says: “I became fascinated with homeopathy during my
visits to India when I found people recommending remedies for some
ailment or the other, like natural medicine was a part of their
lifestyle.
“I came back to the UK armed with some common remedies. When
I found that it did actually help with ailments like colds, sprains,
bruises, I decided to explore homeopathy in more detail.
“A trip to Taiwan in 2006 exposed me to Chinese massage.
After a session which left me energised and invigorated, I thought it
would be a good idea to learn Tuina Massage and offer it alongside
homeopathy. The university where I work teaches massage, so I signed up
with them to do a Diploma. The hands-on therapy is a good adjunct to
homeopathy”
Prasanna practices at Keats Complementary Practice in Enfield and
Winchmore Clinic of Osteopathy in Winchmore Hill, London. Formerly a journalist, she still enjoys
writing and occasionaly contributes book reviews to Pages4Women.
Her other interests includes voluntary environmental work. For the last
ten years, she has been a National Trust volunteer, undertaking varied
tasks such as dry stone walling, laying footpaths, putting up fences
and cutting back shrubs. She has also undertaken similar work in Japan
and Taiwan.
She also enjoys long distance walking with her family; running;
cycling; and meditation for mental fitness.
