Dressing With Color For Confidence PDF  | Print |  E-mail
Written by Andrea Dilea

As springtime arrives, so does an entirely new assortment of designs and tones. But one thing is unlikely to change: every fashionable female will want to have dresses in her closet. This has been true throughout time. The real question is how to look attractive in them if you wear a larger size. The answer: you have to shop with an eye to the right blending of shades for you and you have to exude confidence.

The first thing to think about is the right shade for springtime. Have you seen what tones are featured in the latest fashions? It would seem that there's a bit of everything: dynamic, bright, and anything else you choose to wear. Which hue goes well with your skin tone and gives your face a glow? Which one makes your eyes shine? Which makes you feel great all over? Forget the others, that's the one for you!

Co ordination is the next thing to concentrate on. No I am not talking about the coordination required as you walk up the stairs or slip as you enter a room. When I mean co ordination it means how well does your dress gel along with the accessories you choose to give you a perfect look. For example an A-lined dress would complement to those of us who tend to be more pear-like in shape, a dress with princess would look dashing on the figures of those who are blessed with curves and a wrap or mock-wrap dress would suit almost any kind of body shape.

Let's say you feel you simply must have a gown whose cut is all wrong for your particular shape. There's a way to cope with that situation. If you tie a lovely wide sash on an A-line dress, you'll give it a waistline. If you wear a matching thin stole over your shoulders, you will have the equivalent of cap sleeves on your sleeveless dress. Use other accessories too. Find jewelry that draws attention to your face or neckline. Don a pair of sexy high heels if you have especially good looking legs. Just make sure to coordinate these things well, and you'll achieve a most attractive total appearance.

Finally what matters by the end of the day is your self confidence. Think about people who have made a difference in your life and whose presence changes the whole world around you. You will find that most of them have at least one thing in common. Their physical appearance does not matter. They have confidence and so you should try to imbibe the same in you. Question yourself what is it that you like in yourself, it could be your smile, your thoughtfulness, eyes, hands, brains and anything for that matter. Whatever flashes first in your mind and then add the rest. Optimistic thinking will help you protect your self esteem in the society.

Now, go find a dress you love in that color you're crazy about and add accessories that make the whole outfit pop. The fact that you love it will help you feel good about yourself, and that alone makes you even more beautiful than you already are.
