If you want to have a career that is filled with infinite
personal as well as professional benefits then you should
consider a nursing career. By having this career, it is a chance
to be there for others. It will be a life spent helping others.
Your nursing skills will be mixed with medical knowledge and
with compassion and caring. There are only limited options for
this kind of mixture of objectivity (which means highly
technical) and subjectivity (which means highly personal).
Being able to have a nursing career would mean being part of the
world's largest health care profession and the pie is still
growing as there are more nurses needed in the coming years.
Nurses are the largest group at any hospital. They are the
primary providers of care for the patients at any hospital and
they bring through nursing home care. There are many other
settings that a nurse can work at aside from hospital setting
and nursing home setting.
What's great about having a nurse career is that since the aging
population is increasing, there will never be shortage of jobs
for the nurses. Plus the fact that there are also nurses who are
retiring. Thus, nurses are being replaced for those who are in
nursing management (who are retiring) which indicates job
opportunities and higher starting salaries.
To be able to have a nurse career, one should apply at
state-approved and accredited schools of nursing. Courses
include biology, chemistry, physics, the social sciences,
nursing theory and practice, and the humanities. Plus, students
get supervised clinical hands-on experience in hospitals and
other health care settings. Students need to have good healthy
study habits and excellent problem-solving skills and critical
thinking. The right attitude and the right skills and knowledge
will guide you in your goal to help others as a nurse.
