You may also prefer earth tones to bold contemporary colors, and now is the time to speak up. Don't be afraid you will offend this designer. You are paying for his or her services and they want you to be happy with the outcome. If you are a happy client, you are more willing to tell friends and family about your positive experience.
There are many important things to consider before having your designer start her transformation. Price is always a factor. Be upfront about the amount of money you have chosen for this project. If you find he or she is suggesting costly items or top of the line fabric, mention that you may want to find a less expensive alternative. Designers understand that everyone has a budget. Most importantly, have an open mind. Interior Designers are skilled and trained at knowing how to maximize your space and give it a personality all its own.
